UD is currently seeking a Residence Coordinator who will supervise and mentor a staff of six to eight Resident Assistants and assist with special projects on campus to build community among residential upperclassmen. This is a 12-month live on‑campus position.
Primary Responsibilities- Hire, train, mentor, and supervise Resident Assistants on one side of campus through one‑on‑one interactions, weekly staff meetings, and trainings throughout the year.
- Assist in retention initiatives through the university’s Care Team. Contact, support, and follow up with students of concern on a regular basis.
- Assist in the management of residence halls through regular residence hall maintenance checks and communication with facilities and the housing office.
- Participate in on‑call rotation, responding to emergency calls from UDPD and residence life staff.
- Enforce community standards through adjudication of minor and moderate student conduct cases and community sanctions as needed.
- Support community development on assigned side of campus through regular programming with RAs and individual programming.
- Oversee Theresa House System by meeting with students involved in housing and overseeing spending.
- Supervise Residence Hall Association by overseeing 2 RHA interns, meeting weekly, supervising RHA budget, elections, and programming quotas.
- Perform administrative duties for the Office of Student Life including opening and closing residence halls, records maintenance, document creation, website management, and marketing for events.
- Build positive rapport with students, staff, and faculty by maintaining availability, visibility, and a genuine, caring attitude.
- Other duties as assigned to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the Office of Student Life.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Previous higher education Student Life experience and an understanding of the residence hall as a learning environment.
- Residence Coordinator supervises six‑eight Resident Assistants and may supervise up to two additional student interns.
- The position requires willingness to work late evenings and weekends. A valid driver’s license and a favorable driving record are required.
