Role Overview

The Equipment Quality Program Manager will strengthen our Data Center Engineering & Construction team by leading the equipment quality program, defining standards and quality processes, and guiding a team that administers this program across our expanding vendor portfolio.

Responsibilities
  • Expand and complete setting up the Equipment Quality Program and establish quality metrics focused on vendor equipment manufacturing.
  • Use metrics to improve project reliability and startup performance.
  • Work closely with QTS Engineering & Operations to recommend equipment changes that meet operational or safety standards.
  • Ensure compliance with QTS Board‑of‑Directors expectations and that equipment is manufactured to correct specifications.
  • Lead teams to solve any issues identified by the metrics.
  • Guide and develop vendor inspection of factory quality and First of Kind (FOK) commissioning teams to exceed company standards.
  • Collaborate with construction management staff to create and maintain standards and processes that help projects run smoothly and support effective team communication.
  • Build a team to serve as the main point of contact for vendors, ensuring they meet QTS quality and Board‑of‑Directors expectations.
  • Train team members and vendors on quality processes for equipment manufacturing.
  • Handle quality problems by working with design, procurement, and operations teams to keep projects on track.
  • Regularly audit quality practices to ensure they meet our standards at both manufacturing and site locations.
  • Conduct audits on design documents and quality records to ensure compliance with requirements.
  • Update and improve quality documents (checklists, test plans) to fit modular construction projects.
  • Address project issues by implementing corrective actions.
  • Review commissioning plans and provide input to align them with project goals.
  • Ensure all project documentation is complete and accurate before handing over projects.
  • Oversee equipment tests to confirm compliance with standards and maintain detailed records of testing and commissioning activities.
Minimum Qualifications
  • At least 5 years of experience in QA/QC, commissioning, or equipment manufacturing/engineering specifically around MEP equipment.
  • Background in data center operations is a plus; deep equipment knowledge is primary.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of equipment manufacturing processes and systems.
  • Experience leading QA/QC processes and teams.
  • Skilled at managing relationships with manufacturers, contractors, vendors, and consultants.
  • Knowledgeable in critical data center systems such as power and cooling.
  • Flexible and able to adapt to changing project needs.
Preferred Skills
  • Excellent at managing people and scheduling work.
  • Familiar with QA/QC management software such as CX Alloy, Pro Core, or ACC Build.
  • Project management certification (e.g., PMP) is a plus.
Travel Requirement

Expect to travel 50‑70% domestically, depending on project needs.
