The Senior Quality Manager is a senior-level leadership role responsible for designing, standardizing, and governing enterprise-wide quality systems across BAS and EPMS manufacturing, installation, commissioning, and service operations. This position ensures full alignment with applicable codes and standards, including UL 508A, ISO 9001, the National Electrical Code (NEC), and NFPA 70E, while driving operational excellence, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
This role serves as a key strategic partner to Operations, Engineering, and Supply Chain Leadership, ensuring that quality is embedded from design through lifecycle execution. The Sr. Quality Manager safeguards customer outcomes by reducing defects, enhancing system reliability, and strengthening compliance across all project phases.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the company's enterprise-wide Quality Management System (QMS) across manufacturing, field installation, commissioning, and service operations.
- Establish and standardize quality processes, procedures, and performance expectations across BAS and EPMS operations to ensure consistency, scalability, and operational excellence.
- Partner closely with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Field Leadership to embed quality standards throughout the full project lifecycle, from design and procurement through commissioning and customer turnover.
- Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA), and lessons learned initiatives to identify systemic issues, reduce defects, and drive long-term process improvements.
- Develop, implement, and maintain Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), quality checkpoints, commissioning protocols, and validation procedures to ensure system performance, reliability, and compliance.
- Conduct internal quality audits, field assessments, manufacturing inspections, and process reviews to verify adherence to company standards, customer requirements, and regulatory obligations.
- Support Design for Quality (DFQ) initiatives by collaborating with engineering teams to proactively identify risks, improve manufacturability, and enhance overall system performance and reliability.
- Analyze quality metrics, audit findings, warranty trends, nonconformance data, and field performance indicators to identify improvement opportunities and provide actionable recommendations to leadership.
- Serve as the primary quality lead during customer audits, inspections, and escalations, ensuring professional communication, issue resolution, and strong customer confidence.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, safety, efficiency, reliability, and risk reduction across manufacturing and field operations.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable industry codes, standards, and regulatory requirements, including UL 508A, ISO 9001, NEC, and NFPA 70E.
- Maintain and govern quality documentation, standards, SOPs, inspection records, and compliance reporting to support audit readiness and operational consistency.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline required.
- 8-12+ years of progressive experience in quality, manufacturing, commissioning, or operations leadership roles.
- Experience supporting BAS/BMS, EPMS, low voltage systems, industrial controls, electrical manufacturing, and/or mission critical environments preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001, NEC, NFPA 70E, and applicable industry quality and safety standards.
- Hands-on experience leading Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Valid driver's license with the ability and willingness to travel to manufacturing facilities, customer sites, and other locations as needed.
