Job Overview
Join our Animal Health Technology Solutions team as the Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Sr. Specialist! The role includes ownership of compliance programs and partnership with site leadership across our Animal Health Technology Solutions facilities located in Dallas, Texas and Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The selected candidate must accommodate approximately 30% travel between the two sites to support site needs.
Responsibilities- Serve as the primary EHS point of contact for both sites, partnering closely with site leadership, line managers, and cross‑functional teams.
- Act as liaison with local and state agencies (Texas and Louisiana) to maintain strong regulatory relationships and provide timely responses.
- Plan, develop, implement, and maintain EHS programs to ensure continuous compliance with federal, state, and local requirements, company standards, and industry best practices.
- Own environmental compliance: maintain permits, registrations, and plans; manage renewals and updates;meet reporting deadlines.
- Support incident investigations and root cause analysis; implement corrective and preventive actions and verify effectiveness.
- Track metrics and trends; communicate learnings and drive behavior‑based safety improvements across the sites.
- Develop and deliver targeted EHS training and maintain training matrices and records.
- Communicate complex technical and regulatory information clearly to both senior leaders and shop‑floor employees.
- Champion continuous improvement through best‑practice deployment in both Dallas and Baton Rouge.
- Bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry, environmental science, engineering, physical science, or related technical discipline (required).
- Minimum of 5+ years progressive EHS experience in manufacturing, R&D, laboratory, or technical operations environments (required).
- Demonstrated experience working with U.S. EHS regulatory agencies and corporate support functions.
- Proven competency with at least one of the following programs: RCRA hazardous waste, Clean Air Act (Title
V/NSR), OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM), and high‑risk work controls (e.g., elevated work, confined space, hot work, lockout/tagout). - Experience developing and delivering EHS training and conducting incident investigations with root cause analysis.
- Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging to diverse audiences.
- Preferred knowledge of Texas (TCEQ) and Louisiana (LDEQ) environmental regulatory frameworks, permitting processes, and reporting requirements.
- Proficiency with EHS management systems and corrective‑action tracking.
- Proficiency in safety programs, including contractor management, permit‑to‑work, and safe‑work planning.
- Experience with emergency preparedness and response planning, drills, and coordination with local responders; severe‑weather readiness.
- Experience with MOC, PSSER, and mechanical integrity, ergonomics, and industrial hygiene integration into safety programs.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification, Project Engineer (PE) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) certification preferred.
