Systems Architect

Your role in our team

• You will lead the design and development of material handling system solutions, leveraging deep expertise in equipment technology and operational processes
• You will partner with clients to define system requirements, analyze data, and deliver solutions that improve efficiency and meet end-user needs
• You will provide technical leadership during the sales phase, presenting solutions and building client confidence in Körber’s capabilities
• You will support multiple concurrent projects ranging from $1M to $250M in value
• You will facilitate internal and client‑facing meetings to align on system concepts, requirements, and project progress
• You will develop and utilize material flow calculations and Basis of Design (BOD) to define system performance and throughput
• You will serve as a subject matter expert on material handling equipment, ensuring optimal technology selection and system integration
• You will create system concepts, process flows, and material flow diagrams to support solution development and decision‑making
• You will collaborate cross‑functionally with engineering, design, bid, and operations teams to develop specifications, pricing, and project handoff documentation
• You will support system validation through simulation, emulation, and commissioning, ensuring alignment with “as‑sold” solutions and acceptance criteria

• You have obtained a bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• You have gained a minimum of five years of successful experience in the related field and a successful demonstration of knowledge and responsibilities
• You are proficient in automation layout and design with AutoCAD 2D or Navisworks, and know about 3D CAD modeling and drafting
• You can travel 25%
• You understand automation controls with a demonstrated interest in cross‑functional collaboration
• You have strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non‑technical stakeholders
• You can clearly document technical decisions using visuals, diagrams, and concise written explanations
• You have excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills, with a data‑driven approach to decision‑making
• You have a proven track record of delivering high‑quality work that meets or exceeds customer expectations
