Solstice Consulting Group is seeking an Engineering Manager for a manufacturing client in the Dallas area. Our client designs, builds and installs heavy processing equipment, typically large custom projects.
- Base salary range: Up to $150k DOE plus bonus opportunity and benefits
- Role is 100% in office in West Dallas / Irving Area
- Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering and minimum of 10+ years related experience required
- Experience in large custom project management, rotating equipment and industrial machinery required
- Relocation assistance may be available if not local
Responsible for the leadership and implementation of engineering design projects to achieve efficient and on-time project delivery.
Help create and oversee standard work practices, processes, and structured knowledge to manage and grow a skilled team specializing in engineered to order heavy industrial equipment projects.
- Lead & Mentor in the pursuit of continuous improvement in design practices and new technologies and to drive the execution of projects based on a milestone driven project timeline.
- Support and engage with 3 rd party vendors hired to assist the engineering teams
- Manage scope, schedule, and quality associated with the designated projects with technical oversight.
- Oversee field installation, checkout, and start-up in support of engineering teams.
- Support personnel related activities for a small team of mechanical and electrical engineers, including performance management, manpower planning and staffing, and personnel recognition.
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and 10+ years of related experience required
- 5+ years of engineering leadership including managerial experience required
- Experience with large custom industrial machinery manufacturing including rotating equipment and steel machinery
- Experience leading diverse mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and automation engineering teams
- Knowledge of Shears, Levelers, Rolling mills, Uncoilers, Slitters and related steel plant equipment
- Strong Software Skills including proficiency in MS Office
