Senior Electrical Engineer

Position Overview

The Senior Electrical Engineer at Korber supports standard material specification, schematic preparation, and related follow‑up activities. The role contributes to the design, development, testing, and modification of standard engineering solutions, prepares explanations and clarifications to facilitate accurate interpretation of specifications, communicates technical and commercial issues to stakeholders, and recommends design improvements or new processes.

• Design, control, and implement electrical systems and products.
• Document specifications, schematics, and diagrams throughout the design process.
• Produce reports on project progress for managerial staff.
• Assist in manufacturing to troubleshoot issues, reduce downtime, and ensure projects meet time and budget expectations.
• Create system models, simulations, and layout new electrical systems.
• Test new systems and make design changes as needed.
• Arrange and partition components inside control panels; segregate AC/DC/voltage and calculate cooling requirements based on component heat dissipation and panel dimensions.
• Calculate cable size, wire, overload, transformer, and power supply requirements.
• Travel up to 10% (or 15% domestic travel) as needed.

• Proficient in CAD drafting tools and SAP.
• Strong knowledge of North American standards (NFPA, NEC, UL/cUL, CSA) and international/European standards (IEC/CE).
• Fundamental understanding of motor types: DC, AC (DOL, Y‑Delta, VFD), stepped; single‑phase vs. three‑phase systems and their applications.
• Experience working in an agile environment.

• Experience working in a multi‑functional team.
• Proven experience in electrical panel design and layout.

• BS degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years of hardware design experience, including analog/digital circuits, panel design and layout, low‑voltage AC and DC.
• Project management experience is desired.
