Mechanical Applications Engineer

Responsibilities

• Create concepts and manifests within the scope of customer requirements as outlined in their RFP within the timeframe given by our customers
• Support bid development process from receipt of RFP to submission of proposal
• Demonstrate a strong expertise in material handling system design, equipment technology, and operational process
• Lead design effort based on client’s request for the material handling system(s)
• Provide technical expertise during sales phase showcasing Körber’s capability to develop industry leading solutions
• Support multiple client projects with a range of $100K - $250M
• Create Process Flow Diagrams and Material Flow Diagrams
• Ensure mechanical system designs align with electrical control capabilities supporting solution requirements
• Provide mechanical support for system and product simulation and emulation testing

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a closely related engineering discipline required
• Minimum 3 years of professional experience in mechanical engineering or application engineering roles
• Proficiency with AutoCAD 2D and Navisworks for layouts, system concepts, and design modifications
• Ability to read, interpret, and create technical drawings, schematics, specifications, and bills of materials
• Understanding of system integration, including interfaces between mechanical, electrical, controls, and software components
• Familiarity with engineering standards, safety requirements, and industry best practices
• Strong collaboration skills when working with sales, project management, manufacturing, and service teams
• Ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences

Demonstrates expertise in mechanical engineering with a focus on material handling system design, technical drawing interpretation, and system integration. Proficient in using AutoCAD and Navisworks to create and modify layouts and designs while ensuring compliance with engineering standards and safety requirements.
