Regulatory Compliance Specialist
The Technical Regulatory Compliance Engineering Specialist will support product regulatory compliance programs for Cat Technology—including Automation & Autonomy systems—through various activities that assist in managing compliance risk and ensuring compliance with applicable product regulatory requirements for intended markets.
Responsibilities- Collaborate with product engineering to lead functional safety analysis on safety control systems.
- Understand and stay current on product regulatory requirements and related technology requirements, and understand application of same to Caterpillar products.
- Follow and utilize established processes and tools to collect, assess, and manage information in support of product certification and compliance.
- Identify continuous improvement opportunities for processes and tools used to manage product regulatory compliance risks.
- Collaborate with product groups, design control and operations to ensure the development, validation and production of product that meets applicable product regulatory requirements.
- Data gathering and analysis skills: knowledge of data gathering and analysis tools, techniques, and processes; ability to collect and synthesize data from a variety of stakeholders and sources in an objective manner to reach a conclusion, goal, or judgment.
- Risk management:
knowledge of processes, tools and techniques for assessing and controlling an organization’s exposure to risks of various kinds; ability to apply knowledge of risk management appropriately to diverse situations. - Collaborating: knowledge of collaborative techniques; ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner.
- Decision making and critical thinking: knowledge of the decision‑making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
- Degree in an accredited Engineering, Computer Science, or Materials Science curriculum.
- Extensive experience developing electronic systems.
- Ability to create and use PowerBI dashboards for product regulatory reporting.
- Working understanding of earth moving machinery ISO standards.
This position requires the candidate to work full-time in one of these offices:
Mossville, IL or Irving, TX. The role may require up to 15% travel and is onsite five days a week. Domestic relocation assistance is available for this position if outside of the primary location. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
