Key Responsibilities:
The responsibilities of the Technical Engineer (Power System) include, but are not limited to:
- Assist in the estimation and costing process for power system projects, ensuring accuracy and compliance with technical requirements.
- Prepare and review technical documents, including specifications, drawings, and compliance reports for project proposals.
- Conduct technical evaluations of power system designs, ensuring feasibility, efficiency, and adherence to industry standards.
- Analyze bid documents and customer requirements to assist in developing optimized technical and commercial strategies.
- Provide technical support to sales, project management, and procurement teams in selecting appropriate power distribution equipment.
- Ensure that all technical solutions align with industry regulations such as ANSI, IEEE, IEC, NEC, NEMA, NFPA 70E, and UL.
- Identify potential technical risks and suggest solutions to enhance the reliability of power system projects.
- Support procurement activities by gathering technical data and verifying vendor specifications.
- Assist in improving estimation methodologies and technical review processes for enhanced project efficiency.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, manuals, and training materials to support internal teams.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 10+ years of experience in power system estimation, technical review, and project documentation for MV/LV electrical distribution systems.
- Preferred: experience with competitors such as Eaton, ABB, and Schneider Electric.
- Strong understanding of power system components, load calculations, and industry standards such as ANSI, IEEE, IEC, NEC, NEMA, NFPA 70E, and UL.
- Occasional travel (up to 20%) for project assessments and technical meetings.
Skills:
- Ability to develop accurate technical cost estimates for power system projects.
- Strong analytical skills for validating power system designs and ensuring compliance.
- Excellent communication skills for working with internal teams and vendors.
- Experience with electrical design and estimation tools such as ETAP, SKM, AutoCAD, or similar software.
- Ability to optimize technical documentation and workflow for enhanced efficiency.
