Fire Sprinkler Service Manager

At Johnson Controls, we help protect people, property, and operations through fire protection and life safety solutions. In this role, you will lead a service team that delivers reliable sprinkler service, inspections, testing, and responsive support.

You will combine technical fire sprinkler knowledge with people leadership and commercial accountability to help ensure safe, compliant, and customer-focused delivery.

Role Overview

As Fire Sprinkler Service Manager, you will oversee day-to-day service operations, support your team in the field, and help maintain strong customer relationships. This is a hands‑on leadership role where safety, quality, documentation, and timely response all matter.

You will work closely with technicians, customers, and internal stakeholders to coordinate service activity, resolve defects, and keep work moving efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise fire sprinkler servicing, inspections, testing, defect rectification, and reactive fault response.
  • Coordinate daily service activities, schedules, and priorities to meet customer commitments.
  • Support technicians with technical guidance, troubleshooting, and escalation management.
  • Review deficiency reports, service records, and completed work to help ensure quality and timely follow-up.
  • Maintain strong customer relationships and represent Johnson Controls in a professional, customer-focused manner.
  • Support training, coaching, and performance discussions to help build a capable and accountable team.
  • Ensure service delivery aligns with applicable fire codes, standards, building regulations, and customer expectations, including NZS 4541 where relevant.
How You Will Do It
  • Own outcomes with accountability, safety, and integrity by setting clear expectations, following through on commitments, and making sound decisions in the field.
  • Stay close to the work by understanding customer priorities,现场 conditions, and the realities of inspections, testing, and fault response.
  • Improve every day through practical problem-solving, clear feedback, and disciplined follow-up on recurring issues and service gaps.
  • Win as one team by partnering with technicians, coordinators, customers, and other stakeholders to remove obstacles and keep work moving.
  • Use clear documentation, Microsoft Office Suite, and regular communication to keep service records, schedules, and customer updates current.
Qualifications
  • Experience leading fire sprinkler or fire protection service teams.
  • Strong technical knowledge of fire sprinkler systems, including servicing, inspections, testing, defect rectification, and reactive fault response.
  • Experience in the fire protection or life safety industry.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with employees, customers, and authorities having jurisdiction.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to obtain and retain required licenses or certifications under applicable national, state, or local codes.
  • Understanding of safety, compliance, and customer service expectations in a field-service environment.
