Dealer Service Specialist
The Dealer Service Specialist is responsible for providing exemplary and prompt customer service to dealerships and internal customers. The role involves daily administration of the receivable and dealer‑facing systems, handling communication with dealership staff, internal departments, auctions, floorplan insurance providers, and other external partners.
Responsibilities- Effectively communicate with dealers, outside vendors, management, and peers to deliver exceptional customer service.
- Make outbound and take inbound calls, documenting conversations and account activity accurately.
- Perform collections on upcoming or past‑due payments.
- Assist and train dealership customers and GM Financial staff in using the floorplan system and related standards.
- Perform accurate set‑up and maintenance for floorplan credit lines.
- Assist in the take‑out process from prior lenders.
- Process all exceptions, ensuring accuracy and obtaining appropriate approvals.
- Collaborate with peers and share best practices.
- Communicate any dealer issues to management.
- Maintain an acceptable defect rate for all Wi updates.
- Knowledge of company policies and procedures.
- Ability to make sound business decisions based on policies and procedures.
- Strong oral, written communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Detail‑oriented and capable of managing multiple opportunities simultaneously.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Effective keyboarding skills.
- Ability to use AI tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot) to support daily work.
- Skills in evaluating AI outputs for accuracy, compliance, and bias.
- Experience integrating AI into workflows to improve efficiency or insights.
- Familiarity with AI‑assisted research, summarization, and content generation.
- Understanding of responsible AI use, including ethics and data protection.
- 0–2 years of prior commercial lending experience preferred.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate, Bachelor’s, or Master’s degree (preferred).
