Director of Accounting and Tax

Next Step Recruiting has partnered with a long-standing client located near Las Colinas. They are seeking a hands-on Director of Accounting to join a fantastic leadership team and contribute as the organization prepares for exponential growth. This role will work to ensure accurate financial reporting and strong internal controls.

• Oversee and own all general ledger functions with emphasis on balance sheet accounting, income statements, consolidations, and intercompany transactions
• Lead and develop the accounting team through complex transactions, closings, and audits
• Partner with the finance team on budget vs. forecast processes around balance sheet and income statement
• Ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance across multi-company/entities
• Support tax-related activities including income tax, franchise tax, deferred tax, and booking accruals; prepare schedules for tax audits

• Active CPA; MBA is highly desired
• 10+ years of progressive growth within an accounting leadership role, with public accounting and industry experience
• Strong leadership/management experience
• Extensive experience with general ledger, balance sheet and income statement accounting, consolidations, and intercompany transactions
• Prior multi-company/entity experience
• Ability to partner with the finance team on budget vs. forecast
