Financial Analyst, Financial Reporting
Overview
As a Sr. FP&A Analyst, you will play a crucial role in supporting the company's financial planning and analysis functions. You will work closely with various departments to provide insights, analyze financial data, and contribute to the development of strategic business plans. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a proactive mindset.
Key Responsibilities- Create and maintain budgeting and forecasting templates for the departments.
- Collaborate with department heads to develop annual budgets and quarterly forecasts.
- Roll-up the information to the consolidated financial statements.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial forecasts, identifying areas for improvement and optimization.
- Prepare and present financial reports to senior management, highlighting key trends and variances.
- Monitor and analyze budget-to-actual variances, providing explanations and recommendations as needed.
- Build and maintain complex financial models to support projection and long-term strategic planning and scenario analysis.
- Financial model should include income statement, balance sheet and cashflow projections with what-if scenarios.
- Evaluate the financial impact of potential business decisions and initiatives.
- Conduct in-depth analysis of financial and operational performance metrics.
- Develop and maintain dashboards for key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Provide insights and recommendations to improve efficiency, profitability, and overall business performance.
- Respond to ad-hoc requests for financial analysis and reporting from various stakeholders.
- Investigate and resolve financial discrepancies and irregularities.
- Work closely with accounting, operations, and other departments to gather relevant data for analysis.
- Foster strong communication and collaboration across teams.
- Performs other duties as needed to support projects, operations, and the department.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
- 3 plus years of experience in financial planning and analysis or a related role.
- Professional certification such as CFA, CPA, or similar, preferred but not required.
- Strong proficiency in financial modeling and data analysis tools.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented, with a high degree of accuracy in financial reporting and analysis.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
This job operates in a clerical office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.
- Requires mobility within an office environment.
- Regularly required to talk and hear. Effectively communicate with others both written and orally, including using the telephone.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- The employee may be required to walk; reach with hands and arms; and bend.
- May be required to stoop, kneel, and crouch. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
- Possess good hearing, normal or corrected.
- The employee must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- The employee may be required to climb stairs.
- Must be able to work 8 hours a day, 40 hours per week, and overtime as required and night or weekend shifts, as needed.
