Job Description
The Senior Financial Analyst plays a key role within the Cotality Insurance Solutions Finance team, supporting financial reporting, forecasting, and decision support through accurate, timely, and insight-driven analysis. The analyst is responsible for analyzing monthly financial variances and reviewing key performance indicators to ensure the integrity of financial reporting for the Insurance Solutions segment, while delivering detailed insights into monthly revenue trends and partnering with finance colleagues to improve revenue accuracy and transparency.
They collaborate on quarterly forecasting and annual budgeting processes, providing leadership with a clear view of financial performance and future trajectories.
Leveraging advanced tools such as Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, and Power Query, the Senior Financial Analyst integrates diverse datasets that translate complex financial data into cohesive datasets. The role supports the development and maintenance of financial models and reporting structures that evolve alongside business needs.
The position partners cross‑functionally across Finance, Sales, Marketing, and Product teams to ensure the timely and accurate submission of financial information, while establishing regular communication and alignment on company priorities and revenue expectations. The analyst assists in preparation of executive‑level presentations and supplemental financial materials to support strategic decision‑making, and contributes to ad hoc reporting requests and high‑priority special projects, driving improved financial visibility, process effectiveness, and overall business performance.
CoreResponsibilities
- Analyze monthly financial variances and review key performance indicators to ensure accurate financial reporting for the insurance solutions segment.
- Execute quarterly forecasting and annual budgeting activities to provide leadership with a clear view of financial trajectories.
- Provide detailed insight into monthly revenue trends and collaborate with finance colleagues to improve the accuracy of revenue reporting.
- Build and maintain advanced data visualizations using Power BI (or similar tool) to transform financial data into clear business insights.
- Utilize Microsoft Fabric and Power Query to integrate diverse datasets.
- Help prepare financial models and reporting structures that support the evolving needs of our business partnerships.
- Partner across multiple departments to ensure the timely and accurate submission of all required financial information.
- Establish regular communication and alignment with marketing, product, and sales teams regarding company priorities and revenue expectations.
- Compile supplemental financial materials and presentations to support executive leaders in making strategic decisions.
- Help prepare ad hoc reporting requests and high-priority special projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics required;
Master’s degree preferred. - Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial planning, budgeting/forecasting; public accounting experience a plus.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to influence people, effectively communicate financial results, and make informative presentations to leadership.
- Proven track record of independent development of analytical tools and methodologies.
- Established track record on process simplification and automation.
- Ability to manage multiple projects on a concurrent basis by meeting deadlines.
- Advanced knowledge and ability to use Microsoft Excel, Power Query, Microsoft Fabric and Power BI to prepare business and financial modeling.
- Ability to research and analyze data, and convert data into business insight.
