A rapidly growing, multi-entity organization is seeking a Senior Indirect Tax Analyst to support sales and use tax compliance across a broad geographic footprint. This individual will play a key role in managing indirect tax filings, supporting acquisitions and entity changes, responding to tax notices, and partnering with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities- Manage end-to-end sales and use tax compliance, including the preparation, review, and timely filing of monthly, quarterly, and annual returns.
- Establish and maintain indirect tax registrations and accounts for new entities, acquisitions, and jurisdictions.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to update tax registrations and accounts resulting from legal entity changes.
- Partner with Accounting, Finance, and operational teams to gather, validate, and analyze tax-related data.
- Research, investigate, and resolve tax notices, filing discrepancies, and compliance inquiries.
- Ensure timely processing of tax payments, registrations, renewals, and related documentation.
- Conduct research on state and local tax regulations impacting business operations, expansions, and acquisitions.
- Support tax technology initiatives, process improvements, and compliance automation efforts.
- Assist with sales and use tax audits, including documentation preparation and auditor support.
- Participate in special projects and strategic tax initiatives as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 5+ years of indirect tax experience with an emphasis on sales and use tax compliance.
- Experience preparing and filing multi-state sales and use tax returns.
- Strong understanding of indirect tax regulations and compliance requirements.
- Experience managing tax notices, audit requests, and regulatory inquiries.
- Professional certification such as CMI is preferred.
- Advanced analytical, research, reconciliation, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.
- Ability to independently manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
