Description
Amazon seeks a detail-oriented Financial Analyst II to join our NA AMZL finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for financial planning 1-3 years out, executing the month-end close process, and leading entitlement projects that drive overall cost to serve down for our customers. This hands-on position requires excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills as you'll work across operations and support teams to influence strategic decisions.

- Execute month-end close processes with attention to detail, ensuring accurate financial reporting and proactively identifying discrepancies
- Lead entitlement projects by analyzing data, identifying improvement opportunities, and partnering with operations teams to implement solutions

A day in the life
Your day begins with reviewing key financial metrics and preparing performance reports that provide visibility into NA AMZL/RSR operations. You'll collaborate with operations teams to analyze trends and identify opportunities for improvement. Throughout the day, you'll toggle between tactical execution-such as working on month-end close tasks-and strategic planning activities. You'll participate in meetings with cross-functional teams where you'll present financial insights and influence decisions that impact the business over the next 1-3 years.
About the team
Our team is small but mighty, responsible for managing all NA AMZL/RSR costs for under-the-roof expenses. We work as strategic partners to operations, providing financial guidance that drives business performance. Each team member plays a crucial role in supporting Amazon's last mile delivery network in North America, helping to scale operations efficiently while maintaining financial discipline. We foster a collaborative environment where diverse perspectives are valued and team members have opportunities to grow their skills across multiple financial disciplines.
Basic Qualifications
- 4+ years of identifying, leading, and executing opportunities to improve, automate, standardize or simplify finance or business tools and processes experience
- 3+ years of dissecting financial data and identifying patterns that support business strategy experience
- 3+ years of contributing to cross-functional initiatives that drive financial performance and strategy experience
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, statistics or business, or Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of quantitative role (engineering, process re-engineering, quality assurance) experience
Preferred Qualifications
- 4+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience
- MBA, or CPA
- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
