Join BSI Financial Services as a Loss Mitigation Underwriter! The Loss Mitigation Underwriter is responsible for underwriting business within designated authority level following guidelines to ensure profitable production and retention of assigned book of business as well as company profitability. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years loss mitigation, or default related experience.
Position Type and Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full-time position. This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, with one mandatory Saturday per month. Shifts vary based upon business needs.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:- Review loan files to determine compliance with lender credit underwriting guidelines and representations and warranties and to ensure an investment quality loan product.
- Works closely with management and executive to enhance process, policies and procedures, and operations manual.
- Ability to handle multiple competing objectives and deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy
- Review homeowner financial information to determine affordability for potential loan modifications or other various workouts.
- Submission of account information into automated Intellimods system for underwriting decision and processing
- Ability to work within investor/insurer systems such as Neighborhood Watch/SMDU to input data and obtain approvals
- Accurately and efficiently maintain a pipeline of loan file audit/review inventory, meet production requirements, and communicate status to management.
- Compile findings into a summarized report with attending exhibits.
- Facilitate the drafting of final modification agreements, partial claim documents, assumptions, and recast agreements
- Manage exceptions reports
- Conduct quality control reviews to ensure accuracy of documents
- Ability to locate and transfer legal description and recording information from loan origination documents into Loss Mitigation workout documents when necessary.
- Facilitate training for new underwriters and processors
- Meet any daily production quotas and quality assurance guidelines as assigned by manager
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Minimum of 5 years loss mitigation or mortgage default related experience
- Loss Mitigation or processing experience is a plus
- Knowledge of Mortgage industry, preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PDF Conversions
- Ability to independently manage daily tasks and short-term projects
