* Position Summary
**
The Finance & Accounting Specialist is responsible for supporting month-end close, financial reporting, budgeting, cash flow management, and tax compliance activities. This role will manage multi-state sales tax registrations, filings, and compliance requirements while serving as a key finance partner for the U.S. business. Reporting directly to the Country Manager, this position works closely with the Global Finance team in Madrid, Spain, to ensure accurate financial records, support business planning, maintain compliance with state and local requirements, and provide financial insights to leadership.
This position is ideal for a motivated accounting and finance professional who is looking to grow with a global organization that is expanding its presence in the United States.
** Essential Duties and Responsibilities

* Accounting & Financial Reporting
**
- Support and coordinate month-end close activities, financial reporting, budgeting, cash flow management, and tax compliance with the Global Finance team in Madrid, Spain.
- Serve as the primary finance contact for the U.S. operation and support financial activities for ACCIONA AFS USA.
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure accurate and timely financial records.
- Prepare monthly financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
- Maintain expense reporting records and ensure compliance with company policies.
- Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
- Coordinate with external accountants, auditors, and financial advisors as needed.
- Support annual audits and financial reviews.
* Tax & Compliance
**
- Manage sales and use tax registrations, filings, and compliance requirements across multiple states.
- Coordinate payroll tax reporting and compliance activities with Human Resources and external payroll providers.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
- Work with external tax advisors on corporate income tax preparation and filings.
- Monitor changes in tax laws, business registration requirements, and regulatory compliance obligations.
- Maintain required business licenses and registrations.
* Budgeting & Financial Planning

- Assist in the development of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
- Monitor departmental spending and analyze budget variances.
- Support cash flow forecasting and working capital management.
- Provide financial analysis and recommendations to improve profitability and operational efficiency.
- Assist leadership with financial modeling and special projects.
* Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable
**
- Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
- Monitor collections activities and outstanding receivables.
- Support vendor payment processing and banking activities.
- Assist with treasury and cash management responsibilities.
- Identify and implement improvements to financial and payment processes.
* Business Support
**
- Partner with leadership to support financial decision-making and business planning.
- Develop, document, and improve accounting procedures and internal controls.
- Support ERP, accounting system, and process improvement initiatives.
- Prepare ad hoc financial reports and analyses as requested.
- Provide financial support to procurement and operational teams.
- Assist with administrative and financial projects related to the growth of the U.S. business.
* Qualifications

* Education
**
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
* Experience
**
- 3-7 years of accounting, finance, or related experience.
- Experience managing multi-state sales tax compliance strongly preferred.
- Experience in a small business, industrial, manufacturing, or project-based environment preferred.
- Experience with Quick Books, Net Suite, Sage, Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, or similar accounting systems.
- Experience supporting international or multi-location organizations preferred.
- Bilingual English and Spanish preferred.
* Skills

- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Knowledge of state tax registrations, sales tax compliance, and payroll tax requirements.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- High level of accuracy, integrity, and attention to detail.
