Respiratory Therapist – NICU

Irving, TX

Assignment Duration: 13‑week contract position.

Schedule:

Day Shift – 7 AM to 7 PM.

The Respiratory Therapist in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is responsible for managing respiratory care for critically ill neonate patients, performing advanced respiratory procedures, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care to patients in critical condition.

• Conduct blood gas analysis and airway management.
• Assist with bedside bronchoscopy as needed.
• Provide emergency and routine airway management for all patient populations.
• Administer respiratory therapy medications and develop RT plans of care.
• Document patient therapy provided and ensure effective communication with physicians.
• Participate in Code Blue, Trauma, and STEMI response.

• BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications required.
• Must possess a Texas state license as a Respiratory Therapist.
• Must be a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
• Critical‑care management experience with adult ventilated patients is essential.
• Knowledge in ventilator weaning guidelines and tracheostomy care management is necessary.
• Preference for candidates with NICU experience.
