Physical Therapy Technician

The PT Tech assists with restoration of guest functioning to prevent disability following injury, disease or physical disability under the direct supervision of the staff physical therapist. Assist guests to reach their maximum performance and level of functioning. Perform clerical duties, assist with posting of guest charges, participate in all infection control, departmental equipment training, and all safety programs.

Essential Functions
  • Promote the mission, vision, and values of the organization
  • Responsible for providing specific treatment only as directed by the staff physical therapist.
  • Ability to monitor vital signs
  • Communicate any changes in condition to staff physical therapist or other facility personnel as appropriate
  • Manage and operate equipment safely and correctly
  • Interact professionally with guests/family and involves them in the formation of the plan of care
  • Prepare and clean treatment area for guest use. Perform final cleaning at close of day
  • Record treatment/service revisions in accordance with department policy
  • Demonstrate ability to be flexible, organized and function under stressful situation
  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • Adhere to dress code
  • Complete annual education requirements.
  • Maintain guest confidentiality at all times.
  • Report to work on time and as scheduled.
  • Wear identification while on duty.
  • Maintain regulatory requirements, including all state, federal and local regulations.
  • Represent the organization in a positive and professional manner at all times.
  • Comply with all organizational policies and standards regarding ethical business practices.
  • Communicate the mission, ethics and goals of the organization.
  • Participate in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement activities.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or must be obtained within 30 days of hire
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently, exercise creativity, be attentive to detail, and maintain a positive attitude
  • Ability to manage multiple and simultaneous responsibilities and to prioritize scheduling of work
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of all medical, financial, and legal information
  • Ability to complete work assignments accurately and in a timely manner
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
  • Pushing and pulling heavy objects
  • Position requires light to moderate work with 50 pounds maximum weight to lift and carry.
