Position: Supervisory Human Resources Specialist (Employee Benefits)

Duties

  • Serve as a Supervisory Human Resources Specialist of the Benefit and Retirement Unit
  • Responsible for administering the HROCs retirement programs and benefits
  • Plan and schedule work to be accomplished by subordinates
  • Develop goals and objectives that integrate organizational and strategic HR objectives
  • Formulate strategic plans for the development, enhancement, and maintenance of benefits and retirement programs
Requirements
  • You must be a U.S. citizen.
  • You must successfully pass a background investigation.
  • You must successfully pass a drug screen.
  • Males born after 12/31/59 must certify registration with Selective Service.
  • Current Federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade in the Federal service.
  • This is a full‑time permanent position; upon appointment you may be required to serve a one‑year probationary period.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of one year of specialized experience at the GS‑13 grade level equivalent, performing at least 3 out of 5 of the following duties:
    • Serving as a senior analyst responsible for work related to the retirement and benefit program
    • Managing strategies and policies that facilitated and enhanced the programs and retained a highly skilled and diverse workforce
    • Analyzing the current workforce to identify training needs
    • Providing guidance to executives, managers, supervisors, and other staff members on retirement and benefits programs
    • Designing and producing policies and strategies to improve timelines and increase productivity within the Retirement and Benefits Unit
  • National Service experience, including volunteer work through programs such as Peace Corps and Ameri Corps, is considered relevant and may be counted toward the experience requirement.
Education
  • There is no education substitution for the GS‑14 grade level.
