Johnson Service Group is seeking an Absence Management Coordinator. The role ensures the highest level of customer service and responsiveness throughout the ADA or FMLA Leave of Absence (LOA) process with employees, managers, our HR Team, and third‑party entities. It provides instruction to appropriate stakeholders regarding procedures and compliance, in accordance with company standards, and state and federal regulations. It tracks continuous or intermittent leaves from start to finish, manages the Return‑to‑Work Program with weekly and monthly reporting, and works cross‑functionally with Workers Compensation, HR Compliance, and Time & Attendance to coordinate leave integration with other departments.
The coordinator maintains strict confidentiality, generates reports to analyze leave data, manages the ADA and LOA inbox, partners with third‑party administrators to ensure proper leave management, tracks and responds to legal documents and subpoenas, participates in special projects, and performs other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent amount of relevant work experience.
- Minimum of one (1) year of administrative work experience.
- Knowledge of ADA, FMLA, and Leave of Absence process.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office software, including MS Office, MS Teams, MS Word, Excel, and Power Point.
- High level of professionalism and confidentiality is required.
- Ability to appropriately prioritize assignments, handle multiple projects, and tasks concurrently.
- Ability to work well with others and work independently with minimum supervision.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to effectively interact with employees at all levels within the organization.
- Cognitive skills to gather and analyze data; convert the data into graphs and charts.
- Ability to read, write, and fluently speak the English language.
- Ability to communicate effectively with upper management, both orally and in writing.
- Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this position.
- The employee must be able to consistently arrive on time and adhere to the assigned work schedule.
- The employee must be able to work the assigned schedule, which may include varying shifts, weekends, and holidays as required by the needs of the business.
- The employee must be available to work overtime as needed to meet the demands of the position.
- The employee must be able to communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues regarding attendance and any potential issues that may affect their ability to perform their duties.
- The employee must be able to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time.
