UD is currently seeking a Career Advisor who will guide and coach students and recent graduates in the job search process. Additionally, this position will market the University to potential employers and maintain records for those utilizing the Office of Personal Career Development (OPCD).
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES- Serve as advocate for undergraduate students and recent graduates in the job search process, including pointed guidance in appropriate career paths and salary negotiations. Develop, track, report, and document employment records for students/graduates utilizing the OPCD
- Advise, document, and follow-up one-on-one career counseling sessions, including conducting practice interviews, critiquing resumes, and developing job search strategies.
- Plan and conduct marketing calls and appropriate follow-up with potential employers, which includes educating employers on curriculum offered by University and planning and conducting employer visits to campus.
- Seek employer feedback. Research market trends for various degree programs to aid in development of curriculum, assist in the admissions process, and to further educate
- Maintain student job board (Handshake) to maximize field-related opportunities for
- Conduct mock interviews and provide resume critiques, including
- Generate creative marketing strategies to promote career services to internal and external
- Assist with research of educational outcomes for all undergraduate students, keeping accurate records.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, Psychology, Organizational Behavior, Human Resources, or other with commensurate experience.
- One to two years in human resources, corporate recruiting, placement/search firm, career services or counseling or industry-related position.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Superior organizational and problem resolution skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and to meet frequently occurring deadlines.
