Open Shift Site Reliability Engineer - Hybrid

Location: Irving, Texas (US-TX), United States (US).
Hybrid role: 3 days per week onsite in Irving, TX.

• Design reusable assets, components, standards, frameworks, and processes to support and facilitate microservices and event-driven integrations
• Engineer new capabilities to the Open Shift Platform, and deliver those capabilities in a fully automated and supportable fashion
• Maintain the security, stability, and performance of the Open Shift Container platforms
• Research and implement ways to automate
• Understand complex systems and how to troubleshoot and make them highly available
• Work with virtual / in-person teams, and work under pressure / to a deadline
• Communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences
• Apply best practices around building a supportable repeatable k8s cluster with deployed applications

• Strong understanding of network and container/Linux security related to k8s
• 3+ years of experience in developing infrastructure as code using Terraform
• 3+ years of working with Splunk and dashboard creation
• 3+ years of working in an agile environment (Jira, Confluence)
• 3+ years’ experience with Red Hat Linux RHEL 6/7/8, Kubernetes observability / logging – Grafana, Prometheus
• 3+ years of CI/CD application deployment experience
• 3+ years of experience upgrading and patching a k8s cluster and applications in the cluster

• 5+ years of experience in Open Shift
• 3+ years of experience with container orchestration (Kubernetes, Open Shift)
• 3+ years of working with Ansible Playbook and Ansible Tower

• Dark site k8s experience / knowledge
• Familiarity with technical support tracks and research in Red Hat/IBM
• Self-motivated and proactive person
