Azure Data Architect

Responsibilities

Kforce has a client that is seeking an Azure Data Architect in Irving, TX. The Azure Data Architect is the enterprise‑wide technical leader responsible for designing, governing, and operating a unified data platform across On‑Prem, Azure, and Microsoft Fabric. The role integrates architectural strategy with platform ownership covering post‑merger integration, Lakehouse design, BI platform management, DBA oversight, Dev Ops deployments, observability, and security.

• Enterprise Data Architecture & Cloud Strategy
• Architect modern enterprise data platforms across On‑Prem, Azure, and Fabric ecosystems
• Define architectural standards, reusable patterns, roadmaps, and modernization strategies
• Lead scalable ingestion, storage, transformation, and modeling frameworks
• Drive cloud adoption with a focus on resiliency, standardization, and business alignment

• Consolidate data environments, pipelines, and models across acquired companies
• Integrate ERP, CRM, and operational systems into unified Lake/Lakehouse architectures
• Establish reusable ingestion and onboarding frameworks for future acquisitions
• Standardize canonical models and reduce duplicated or conflicting data assets

• Design and operate Lakehouse architectures following Bronze/Silver/Gold patterns
• Govern Fabric work spaces, Lake houses, Pipelines, and semantic models
• Define and maintain enterprise KPI frameworks and shared semantic layers
• Ensure strong lineage, data quality, and operational observability

• Define canonical entities (Customer, Product, Vendor, Location, etc.)

• Platform Ownership & Operational Leadership
• BI Platform Administration

• 12‑15+ years in enterprise data architecture and cloud analytics
• Expertise in data modeling, schema design, and large‑scale data systems
• Advanced hands‑on experience with ADF, Azure SQL, Synapse, and ADLS Gen2
• Strong SQL Server background with performance tuning expertise
• Experience with DB2/iSeries data structures and migration
• Familiarity with Cosmos DB/No
  
  SQL and Databricks/Py Spark

• Azure Dev Ops, CI/CD, and Infrastructure‑as‑Code (ARM/Bicep/Terraform)
• Azure Entra  least‑privilege security architecture
• Azure cost governance and optimization
• Strong experience with Microsoft Fabric

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & AD&D insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
