Job Description Data Analyst II

In this mid-level role, you will conduct more complex data analyses, create advanced reports and dashboards, and work closely with business units to translate their needs into data-driven insights. You will also mentor junior analysts and contribute to data process improvements.

Your Responsibilities On The Team
  • Conduct more complex data analysis and develop insights that support business objectives.
  • Create and maintain more advanced reports and dashboards for various stakeholders.
  • Work closely with business units to translate their needs into data-driven solutions.
  • Assist in developing data models to support predictive and prescriptive analytics.
  • Provide guidance and support to Data Analyst 1 in their daily tasks.
  • Identify trends, patterns, and anomalies in data sets and present findings to senior analysts.
  • Contribute to the development of best practices for data management and analysis.
  • Proficient in advanced data cleaning techniques, such as normalization, handling categorical variables, and merging datasets.
  • Experience using tools like Python (pandas, Num Py) or R for complex data manipulation.
  • Ability to create interactive dashboards (Power BI), use calculated fields, and design complex visualizations that tell a compelling data story.
  • Knowledge of best practices in data visualization and experience with custom visualizations.
  • Strong understanding of statistical methods (regression analysis, ANOVA, hypothesis testing); ability to apply these methods to real-world data and interpret the results.
  • Understanding of how to create and maintain data models to support business reporting needs.
  • Skilled at supporting and managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines.
  • Experience with statistical analysis and predictive modeling.
  • Identify trends, patterns, and anomalies in data sets and present findings to senior analysts.
  • Contribute to the development of best practices for data management and analysis.
  • Ability to work with large and complex data sets.
  • Experience with programming (e.g., Python, Shell Script, SQL), data modeling, and developing features within hyperscaler cloud environments.
  • Basic understanding of tools like dbt and Git Hub.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field; advanced coursework or certifications preferred.
  • Ability to articulate data-driven insights clearly to a diverse audience.
  • Identifies issues in data and processes, proposing effective solutions.
  • Builds strong working relationships across teams and functions.
  • Provide guidance and support to Data Analyst 1 in their daily tasks.
  • Upholds ethical standards and sets a positive example for junior team members.
  • Manages complex challenges with poise, maintaining focus under pressure.
  • Actively contributes to change initiatives and encourages innovation within the team.
  • Collaborates effectively with other departments to achieve shared goals.
  • Takes on leadership roles in projects, mentoring junior analysts and guiding team efforts.
  • Holds self and others accountable for meeting deadlines and achieving quality outcomes.
