Job Description

DB2 DBA for iSeries (IBM i / AS400), specializing in database performance tuning and optimization.

• 8+ years of experience with DB2 for iSeries (IBM i/ AS400)
• Proven expertise in database performance tuning and optimization
• Advanced knowledge of SQL tuning, query optimization, and execution plans
• Solid understanding of IBM i architecture, storage, and workload management
• Review current database usage patterns to identify anti-patterns and potential performance issues
• Analyze execution plans, wait time and resource metrics, and top N queries without performing query rewrites
• Identify index gaps, inefficient indexing, and CPU, memory, I/O, and bufferpool configuration issues
• Diagnose and resolve database performance, availability, and stability issues
• Establish baselines to validate tuning and provide clear, actionable recommendations to application teams
• Collaborate with tools team for monitoring
• Documentation and implementation of best practices
• Knowledge transfer of common tools, processes, and issue resolution

• Preferred in Los Colinas, TX or Alpharetta, GA - Hybrid.
