AI is hiring a Threat News Monitoring & Detection Lead to join the Threat Research Insights and Impact (TRII) team. TRII translates Trend
AI’s threat research into business impact through publication, amplification, listening, and measurement. The Monitoring & Detection Lead is responsible for the team’s continuous awareness function: identifying which external and internal signals warrant a response, directing how those signals become published content, and quantifying the impact of TRII’s output. The role also owns the data and measurement program for threat research ed in Austin, the Lead anchors North America coverage and partners closely with colleagues in Asia.
- Lead a continuous monitoring program covering emerging threats, breaking incidents, and notable threat actor activity across external and internal sources.
- Triage incoming signals and direct editorial response: determine which stories TRII pursues, brief contributing teams, and engage internal subject-matter experts to source content.
- Own the measurement program for Trend
AI’s threat research output, including reach, influence, and downstream business indicators, and report progress through standard business cadences. - Operate the supporting data, listening, and analytics stack, and partner with internal automation specialists to harden recurring workflows into durable, scalable services.
- Influence (without direct people management) a small distributed team of editors across North America and Asia to maintain consistent coverage, with a primary emphasis on listening and a secondary emphasis on short‑form publishing.
- Conduct ongoing competitive benchmarking of peer security vendors’ visibility and influence, and translate findings into editorial direction.
- Represent TRII in cross‑functional incident coordination, ensuring clear ownership, intake paths, and internal communications during significant events.
- 7+ years of experience in cybersecurity, threat intelligence, security communications, or a related discipline, including at least two years leading a team or program.
- Demonstrated proficiency with measurement, analytics, and social listening platforms, and the ability to translate quantitative findings into clear business narratives.
- Strong editorial judgment and news sense, with the ability to distinguish signal from noise across a high‑volume stream of inputs.
- Working knowledge of the threat intelligence and threat research landscape, including standard frameworks, disclosure norms, and the distinctions between incidents, campaigns, and vulnerabilities.
- Fluency with AI‑assisted workflows for triage, analysis, and content production, and a track record of integrating such tools into a team’s daily operations.
- Excellent written communication for both leadership audiences and short‑form external audiences.
- Experience working effectively across time zones, particularly with teams based in Asia, and willingness to flex schedule occasionally during significant incidents.
