Compute Architect

• Hybrid cloud architecture (on-prem + cloud integration)
• Cloud migration strategy (lift & shift, re-platform, re-architect)
• Kubernetes / Open Shift architecture

• Design end-to-end compute architecture (on-prem, cloud, hybrid)
• Create High-Level Design (HLD) and guide Low-Level Design (LLD)
• Align compute strategy with business goals, SLAs, and growth plans
• Designers define the blueprint and direction of infrastructure

• Understand application needs (performance, scale, availability)
• Convert requirements into platform selection (VM vs Container vs Bare Metal)
• Balance performance, cost, and resiliency
• Act as a bridge between business and technology

• Architect solutions on cloud and hybrid compute platforms
• Responsible for designing and managing cloud infrastructure architecture

• Design VMware / Hyper-V / KVM environments
• Cluster architecture (HA, DRS)
• Resource pooling strategy

• Cluster sizing and scaling
• Guide adoption of microservices-based compute models

• Self-healing systems
• Ensure systems are scalable, reliable, and resilient

• Terraform / Ansible-based provisioning
• Automated provisioning, scaling, and recovery
• Improve efficiency via automation is a key responsibility

• Capacity planning
• CPU, memory, storage usage
• Ensure systems meet performance SLAs

• Cloud spend (rightsizing, reserved instances)
• Over provisioning, unused capacity
• Make decisions impacting cost, performance, and efficiency

• Secure compute configurations
• IAM, security controls
• Ensure compliance with enterprise policies
