The Director – Architecture Strategy & Transformation is a senior leadership role responsible for driving large-scale modernization and digital transformation across Wealth Management and Retail Banking platforms. This role provides enterprise-wide architectural leadership to define and execute target-state architectures, enabling scalable, secure, and client-centric platforms across:
- Wealth Management & Advisory
- Digital Wealth Platforms
- Retail Banking
- Lending Ecosystems
- Define and execute multi-year transformation roadmaps across wealth and retail banking
- Drive legacy modernization (mainframe to cloud-native, monolith to microservices)
- Align architecture strategy with business priorities including:
- Digital wealth growth
- Lending transformation
- Client experience modernization
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior business and technology leadership
- Define target architectures leveraging:
- Cloud-native platforms
- API-first and microservices architectures
- Event-driven systems
- Lead architecture for:
- Wealth and advisory platforms
- Digital banking and advisor channels
- Lending (origination and servicing)
- Establish architecture standards, patterns, and governance
- Driving architecture transformation towards target state:
- Portfolio management, trading, and advisory platforms
- Digital wealth (mobile/web, personalization)
- Core banking (deposits, payments, integration)
- Lending systems (origination, servicing, credit decisioning)
- Enable omnichannel client and advisor experiences
- Ensure compliance with:
- Regulatory standards (SEC, FINRA, OCC)
- Data privacy (GDPR, CCPA)
- Embed:
- Secure-by-design and Zero Trust principles
- Identity and access management
- Lead architecture governance and design authority
- Lead and Collaborate with multiple architecture teams and managers
- Oversee budgeting, planning, and resource strategy
- Drive standards, best practices, and technical debt reduction
- Influence senior stakeholders and executives across business and technology
- Mentor architects and foster a culture of innovation and accountability
- 15+ years of experience in technology, including architecture leadership roles
- Proven track record delivering large-scale transformation initiatives in:
- Wealth Management
- Retail Banking and Lending
- Strong experience with:
- Modern architecture (cloud, microservices, APIs, event-driven systems)
- Wealth platforms (advisory, portfolio management, trading)
- Digital banking and lending ecosystems
- Deep understanding of enterprise architecture, integration patterns, and data platforms
- Strong executive communication and stakeholder influence
- Ability to manage complex, cross-functional teams and priorities
- Strategic thinking with strong execution focus
- Bachelor’s/University degree on Computer Science or equivalent experience, potentially Masters degree and managerial experience
