Sr. Network Engineer

Responsibilities

• Manage all network and security systems across a large‑scale enterprise while maintaining availability and integrity.
• Design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, and wireless networks.
• Resolve escalated network issues, provide technical support, and guide junior engineers.
• Implement and maintain network security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and access controls.
• Assist with the network integration of multiple companies acquired.
• Monitor network performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to optimize performance.
• Create regular reports and provide analytics to inform technical and business decisions.
• Effectively manage multiple projects involving installations of infrastructure software and hardware.
• Ensure all system or network alerts are logged, tracked, and resolved; manage alerts and events through the enterprise trouble ticketing tool.
• Follow the change management process for production systems regarding physical or system configuration updates.
• Make process and systems improvements.
• Develop and maintain capacity planning analysis, recommendations, and procedures.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of network infrastructure, including diagrams, procedures, and configurations.
• Resolve operational issues through support tickets and alerts from network and system monitoring tools.
• Stay current with new technology and tools.
• Ensure global switching and routing consistency and troubleshoot where necessary.
• Configure, manage, and administer routers, firewalls, switches, and other IP‑based communication equipment.
• Track and log all activity, including incidents and resolutions, to system users.
• Coordinate with other IT team members to build a knowledge base.
• Work with cross‑function organization teams to ensure coordination of resources for technology projects and that all services have needed implementation information.

• 10+ years as an enterprise Network Engineer with data center experience.
• 10+ years of Cisco Nexus 7k, 9k, Catalyst routers and switches.
• 5+ years of Fortinet Firewall experience.
• Forti Manager, Forti Analyzer preferred.
• CCNE, CCNA, or CCNP certification.
• Strong experience with multiple routing protocols.

• Solar Winds expertise.
• Fortinet Ruckus Wireless knowledge.
• Cisco ISE.
• SDWAN.
• Azure Networking.
• Site‑to‑Site VPN, IPsec, SSLVPN.

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Experience:

Extensive experience (10+ years) in network engineering, including hardware and software, routing protocols, and security technologies.

Certifications:

Industry‑recognized certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or equivalent are highly desirable.

Skills:

Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills. Experience with various networking technologies, including Cisco, Juniper, and Palo Alto.

Reaching above shoulder heights, below the waist, or lifting as required to file documents or store materials throughout the workday. Long periods of sitting or standing while working with computers. Occasional lifting of items up to 50 pounds.
