Job Description
U.S. Bank is seeking an experienced Enterprise Technology Architect to define, lead, and evolve our enterprise-wide technology architecture strategy. As a member of the Enterprise Architecture team, this role closely partners with the business and the other members of the technology organization to design modern, resilient, and secure technology ecosystems and platforms that align with business objectives. The ideal candidate will have a blend of strategic and technical thinking, solving the most complex enterprise technology problems with enterprise-grade solutions.
Key Responsibilities Define and drive enterprise technology architecture strategy- Establish target-state technology platform architectures and standards aligned to business priorities.
- Translate business requirements into scalable technology architecture solutions.
- Architect technology solutions and integration strategies across systems.
- Ensure consistently stable, secure, and resilient infrastructure architectures.
- Define standards for technology quality.
- Establish technology governance policies, compliance controls, and security practices.
- Evaluate and recommend emerging technologies, technology platforms, and tools.
- Define standards for technology integration and technology services.
- Partner with stakeholders to align technology architecture with enterprise objectives.
- Act as a bridge between business strategy and technical execution.
- Lead architecture reviews and ensure adherence to standards.
- Support delivery teams through the product lifecycle.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
- Eight or more years of relevant experience.
- 10+ years of experience in technology architecture, delivering large-scale enterprise technology solutions within agile environments.
- Strong expertise in modern technology architectures.
- Strong experience in solution architecture for cloud-based technology platforms including AWS or Azure.
- Previous roles as a senior software engineer at some point during their career.
- Deep understanding of technology governance, privacy, and security standards.
- Proven ability to design and implement scalable technology platforms, frameworks, and architecture patterns.
- Hands‑on experience designing large‑scale resilient application and infrastructure architectures.
- Experience in technology integration across a broad range of platforms.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational capabilities.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and business stakeholders effectively.
- Familiarity with industry architectural frameworks such as ITIL, TOGAF, COBIT, Zachman, etc.
- Experience in the banking, wealth management, or financial services domain.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent work experience.
- Relevant certifications in technology management, cloud architecture, or engineering.
- This role requires working from a U.S. Bank location three (3) or more days per week.
