Principal Architect - Hybrid

10 is currently seeking a Principal Architect - Hybrid position with a Global Financial Institution located in Irving, TX. This is a 24+ month contract opportunity.

As a Principal Architect, you will serve as the chief technical visionary and enterprise architecture leader driving Dev Sec Ops  and release engineering transformation across the data and analytics ecosystem. You will define reference architectures and standards for CI/CD using Git Hub Actions and reusable workflows, embed compliance controls into the software delivery lifecycle, and design deployment patterns that promote reliability and auditability.

A central focus of this role is enabling predictable, enterprise-scale delivery by aligning release governance with Open Shift (OCP) deployments through Harness.

Responsibilities:

• Define and own the technical vision, architecture roadmap, and technology strategy for the Cross Platform Engineering and Reference Architecture team
• Lead the design, governance, and evolution of reference architectures for web services, APIs, data pipelines, and enterprise integration patterns
• Define the target-state architecture for enterprise-grade CI/CD pipelines with integrated security controls and compliance automation
• Architect and maintain standardized Git Hub Actions workflow templates and reusable workflows that encode enterprise best practices
• Serve as the primary architecture liaison with Enterprise Architecture, ensuring standards align with firm-wide architectural principles
• Evaluate, select, and champion emerging technologies in the Python ecosystem, Dev Ops, cloud-native platforms, and AI-enabled development
• Drive cultural transformation toward Dev Sec Ops , SRE practices, and engineering excellence through architectural leadership

Requirements:

• 12+ years of software engineering and architecture experience with demonstrated expertise designing systems in Python at enterprise scale
• 12+ years of architecting web applications, distributed systems, and platform solutions using industry-standard frameworks (Django, FastAPI, Flask)
• 12+ years with cloud platforms (GCP, Azure, AWS) or on-prem platforms such as Kubernetes or Open Shift
• 10+ years of experience architecting CI/CD pipelines, Dev Ops platforms, and release engineering systems, including Git Hub Actions and reusable workflow design
• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience with strong proficiency in Python
• 8+ years designing and implementing CI/CD automation and Dev Ops practices
• 7+ years of security architecture experience including Dev Sec Ops , application security, threat modeling, and compliance automation
• 7+ years of enterprise architecture leadership defining architecture standards, governance frameworks, and engineering processes
• 5+ years of experience with cloud-native platforms and container orchestration (Open Shift/Kubernetes) including deployment automation
• Hands-on experience integrating automated security scans into CI/CD pipelines (Sonar, Checkmarx, Black Duck, etc)
• Experience designing and operating deployment automation to Open Shift (OCP) using Harness CD (or equivalent)
• Must have demonstrable prior experience with Open Source Contributions to Conda-Forge, Pixi Package Manager, Developing Git Hub Actions and CI/CD Automation

Desired skills:

• 15–20 years of Python development with deep expertise in modern Python patterns
• 15+ years of web application architecture with at least 10 years using the Django web application framework
• 10+ years of platform architecture and engineering experience with Open Shift or Kubernetes
• 7+ years of infrastructure-as-code and Git Ops architecture (Terraform, Ansible)
• Experience with SRE practices, observability platform architecture, and incident management frameworks
• Proven track record of leading enterprise-scale technical transformations and architecture modernization programs
• Experience presenting to and influencing senior technology leadership

Pay range: $86.09 - $94.09 per hour
