Monitoring Technology Technician SummaryThis position is responsible for Programs and monitors computer and peripheral equipment and alarm receiving hardware for the purpose of maintaining life safety communications. This role will assist internal customers with application‑related issues for alarm delivery.
Duties and Responsibilities- Programs and monitors computer and peripheral equipment such as servers, alarm receivers, and switching hardware that comprise the network of equipment for maintaining life safety alarm communications.
- Provide Level 1 technical support that may include telco, server, signaling, and/or mainframe applications, as well as technical advice, guidance, and informal training on hardware and software for the continued successful transmission of life safety alarm communication services.
- Troubleshoot and restore routine technical services and equipment by analyzing, identifying, and diagnosing faults and symptoms using established processes and procedures, but may require real time analysis and change to programming parameters that fall outside of established processes.
- Maintain lists, records, procedures, templates, etc. pertaining to alarm signal systems or processes.
- Perform system maintenance to alarm signal receivers and servers to ensure availability and uptime to support current and upcoming customer base at a 99.999% performance level.
- Associate degree or equivalent experience.
- 1‑2 years of alarm panel or communicator experience.
- Demonstrate basic knowledge of the principles, concepts, and theories of alarm system communication methods and protocols
- Have a customer‑focused mindset; be action‑oriented with good time management.
- Strong competence in functional/technical skills.
