Business Systems Analyst – Project Management Platforms

Location: Shared Services Office, Irving, TX (Hybrid)

Reports To: Director, BSA – Project Management Platforms

Summary: Project Ignite is a large‑scale transformation program uniting 20+ operating companies onto a single Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations and Project Operations platform. As a Business Systems Analyst on the Project Management Platforms workstream you will sit at the intersection of Sales, Project Managers, Field Service teams, and Accounting, supporting the full project lifecycle – from opportunity and contract through resource deployment, time and expense capture, project billing, and revenue recognition.

Your contributions shape a standardized deployment factory that is replicated across many entities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Template Design & Deployment Factory
    • Participate in agile sprint cycles, design and configure the D365 Project Operations core template.
    • Evaluate design decisions for scalability and repeatability, aiming for an 80% standardized template.
    • Maintain a Design Decision Log documenting rationale and fit/gap outcomes.
    • Support wave planning and discovery sprints, assessing process variation and customization needs.
  • Cross‑Functional Stakeholder Engagement
    • Work with Sales on opportunity management, contract setup, billing milestones, and handoff to Project Operations.
    • Collaborate with Project Managers on planning, resource assignments, task structures, time and expense workflows, milestone tracking, and health reporting.
    • Coordinate with Field Service teams on work order management, scheduling, mobile time capture, and integration into cost and billing.
  • Requirements & Process Design
    • Lead or support requirements workshops for Accounting & Finance, translate needs for billing, revenue recognition, WIP, inter‑company transactions, and reconciliation.
    • Perform fit/gap analysis and recommend configuration‑first solutions.
    • Translate business requirements into functional design specifications and user stories for Solution Architects and the SI team.
    • Map end‑to‑end lifecycle processes, identify integration touchpoints, and document handoff gaps.
  • Delivery & Quality
    • Collaborate with architects, integration engineers, data migration analysts, and QA to ensure configuration quality.
    • Develop and execute end‑to‑end UAT test scenarios covering cross‑functional flows.
    • Support data migration planning, cutover planning, and hyper‑care support at go‑live.
    • Triage and resolve post‑go‑live issues, distinguishing configuration defects from training gaps or scope.
  • Knowledge Transfer & Capability Building
    • Create user guides, process flows, and training materials tailored to each stakeholder group.
    • Contribute to the program playbook, capturing discovery patterns, fit/gap findings, and standards.
    • Assist onboarding of future BSA team members and support internal capability growth.
  • General Duties
    • Authored documentation, research projects, and special projects as needed.
    • Conduct work in an ethical, legal, and responsible manner, adhering to company policies and the Code of Conduct.
Success Factors
  • Process‑first orientation with focus on end‑to‑end workflow.
  • Stakeholder diplomacy across Sales, Finance, and Field Service.
  • Standardization discipline and documentation rigor.
  • Ownership through go‑live and post‑launch support.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and fast‑moving environments.
