IT Project Manager
Location:
Irving, Texas (Hybrid: 2-3 days per week onsite to start)
Contract:
12-month contract to start with strong potential for extension
Our client, a global leader in the convenience retail industry, is seeking experienced Information Technology Project Managers to support multiple enterprise technology initiatives. These opportunities support large-scale enterprise projects within IT Operations and focus on either enterprise software implementations or infrastructure modernization initiatives.
The IT Operations organization follows established PMO governance and delivery methodologies while partnering closely with technical teams, business stakeholders, vendors, and executive leadership to successfully deliver strategic initiatives.
Role 1:Enterprise Software Implementation (Service Now SAM Pro)
Lead the implementation and enhancement of Service Now Software Asset Management Professional (SAM Pro), an enterprise platform used to manage software licensing, compliance, vendor audits, software requests, and software asset optimization. This is not a hands‑on Service Now administration role. The emphasis is on driving project execution across multiple teams and stakeholders.
Role 2:Infrastructure Project Manager
Lead enterprise infrastructure initiatives including data center consolidation, server refreshes, storage, networking, and related infrastructure modernization efforts. Candidates do not need engineering experience but should understand infrastructure terminology and have experience managing technical infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities- Manage enterprise IT projects from initiation through implementation and successful delivery.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, schedules, milestones, budgets, and timelines.
- Coordinate multiple project work streams while tracking dependencies, risks, issues, and action items.
- Lead project status meetings and provide clear communication to business stakeholders, technical teams, vendors, and executive leadership.
- Partner with implementation vendors and third‑party partners to ensure successful project execution.
- Maintain project documentation, including status reports, meeting notes, risk logs, and decision documentation.
- Proactively identify project risks, develop mitigation plans, and elevate issues when appropriate.
- Coordinate resources across cross‑functional teams to ensure project milestones are achieved.
- Ensure projects follow established PMO governance standards and delivery methodologies.
- Support continuous process improvement initiatives that enhance project execution and delivery.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, Project Management, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Experience managing enterprise IT projects from planning through implementation.
- Strong experience developing project plans, managing timelines, tracking milestones, and coordinating cross‑functional teams.
- Experience leading project status meetings and communicating effectively with technical teams, business stakeholders, and executive leadership.
- Experience managing project risks, issues, dependencies, and vendor relationships.
- Knowledge of SDLC and project delivery methodologies, including Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid approaches.
- Experience using project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Jira, Azure Dev Ops, Smartsheet, or similar platforms.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
For Enterprise Software Implementation Role
- Experience managing large enterprise software implementation projects.
- Familiarity with Service Now or Software Asset Management (SAM) initiatives is beneficial but not required.
- Experience supporting infrastructure projects involving data centers, networking, servers, storage, cloud, or infrastructure modernization.
- Familiarity with technologies such as VMware, Azure, AWS, or enterprise infrastructure environments is preferred, but hands‑on engineering experience is not required.
