Engineer-Equipment - III

Join our dynamic team in Irving, TX, a vibrant city known for its diverse community and thriving business environment. We are seeking a skilled professional to perform detailed equipment engineering for network augments. This role involves developing specifications for installation, managing inventory, and ensuring vendor delivery, all while adhering to engineering, financial, planning, and operational standards.

• Develop all specifications required for installation forces to properly install, turn-up, inventory, and configure equipment.
• Obtain appropriate management approvals and issue purchase orders.
• Create applicable diagrams/drawings and ensure vendor delivery.
• Ensure compliance with engineering, financial, planning, and operational standards.
• Develop Bill of Material and place orders for network equipment, rack, and hardware requirements.
• Define cable requirements, create cable running lists, and order all cables.
• Order all required spares based on sparing plan or as directed by capacity management.
• Manage, input, and update central Network Inventory Database to reflect new builds, adds, and decommissions.

• Bachelor’s degree or six or more years of relevant work experience.
• Experience in detailed engineering and creating technical documentation.
• Proficiency with Google Workspace tools such as Gmail, Calendar, Docs, Sheets, Drive, and Slides.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent time management skills.

• Direct working knowledge of Tellabs 7100, Nortel 5200, Fuji 9500, Fuji 4500, Fuji 4100, and/or ROADM technology.
• Strong knowledge of both Outside Plant and Inside Plant facilities and characteristics.
• Experience installing telecommunications equipment.
• Experience using CAD-based software tools.
• Knowledge or familiarity with systems such as vBuild, FIM, TCOMS, CANVAS, CCP, COA, SRM/nSAP, AYS.

• College degree or relevant experience.
