Summary:
Consolidated Electrical Distributors Inc. (CED) is one of the largest electrical solutions and product distributors in the country. We are seeking a senior IT systems administrator to implement and maintain technological solutions to support CED’s internal and external users. The IT Operations team is responsible for the operation of the CED data centers, CED cloud platforms, and the IT infrastructure supporting our 700+ locations across the country.
The successful candidate will have experience implementing and maintaining data center IT infrastructure and Microsoft technologies. CED is focused on finding the best talent as we continue to grow and build on the success that was started in 1957.
The position will work with CED management, IT operations, software development groups, the IT help desk, and IT project managers to implement and maintain these IT systems and networks.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent combination of education, certifications, and relevant experience will be considered.
Minimum of five (5) years of experience in various IT engineering and operations disciplines including critical productions environments, server administration, virtualization, email administration, backup systems, monitoring and alerting systems, storage device management, desktop support, and Active Directory/identity management.
Demonstrated knowledge of current cybersecurity principles, best practices, and evolving industry standards, with the ability to implement and support secure infrastructure solutions.
Working knowledge of cybersecurity concepts including identity and access management, multi-factor authentication, endpoint and host-based security solutions, security information and event management, and vulnerability and risk management strategies.
Strong customer service orientation with proven ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders, including end users, engineers, developers, vendors, and executive leadership.
Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and consistently meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English, including the ability to document technical procedures, create reports, and communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences. Proficient in Microsoft 365 applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams.
Ability to participate in on-call rotation and provide after-hours support for infrastructure incidents, outages, and maintenance activities.
Willingness and ability to travel periodically to company offices, branch locations, and data centers as required.
Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position, including lifting equipment up to 25 pounds, climbing stairs, and remaining seated or standing for extended periods.
Ability to perform effectively under pressure during critical incidents, service disruptions, and time-sensitive operational events.
Experience designing, implementing, and supporting virtualized infrastructure and private, public, or hybrid cloud environments, including VMware, Microsoft Azure, and Amazon Web Services (AWS).
Experience provisioning, configuring, and administering Microsoft server technologies, including web, application, and database server platforms.
Experience identifying, assessing, and remediating security vulnerabilities, as well as implementing security controls and compliance frameworks.
Proficiency in Power Shell scripting and infrastructure automation to improve operational efficiency and system reliability.
Strong technical writing and communication skills, with the ability to develop and maintain documentation, create operational procedures, and effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Experience utilizing IT Service Management (ITSM) and ticketing platforms to manage incidents, service requests, problem resolution, and change‑control processes.
Technical experience advantages: VMware, Windows Server, Fortinet, Cisco, Dell, Azure, AWS.
Certification advantages:
CompTIA Security+, CCNA, Microsoft, AWS.
Primarily office-based work environment with periodic travel to company facilities, remote locations, and data centers as needed.
Requires occasional after-hours, weekend, and holiday work to support infrastructure maintenance, system upgrades, and emergency response activities.
Participation in a shared on-call rotation to provide 24x7 support for critical business systems and infrastructure services.
