We are seeking an experienced Senior Technical Project Manager – Security to lead the successful delivery of enterprise security initiatives across infrastructure, cloud, identity, network, endpoint, and application security domains. This role is responsible for managing complex, cross-functional projects from initiation through implementation while partnering with Information Security, Infrastructure, Engineering, Compliance, and business stakeholders.
The ideal candidate is an accomplished technical project manager with a strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, exceptional organizational and communication skills, and a proven ability to deliver large-scale security initiatives in enterprise environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of enterprise security projects from planning through implementation and post-deployment support.
- Develop and manage comprehensive project plans, schedules, milestones, budgets, resource allocations, and project dependencies.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams including Information Security, Infrastructure, Cloud, Networking, Application Development, Compliance, and business stakeholders.
- Identify, assess, and proactively manage project risks, issues, assumptions, and dependencies (RAID), ensuring timely mitigation and resolution.
- Facilitate project governance meetings, steering committee reviews, executive status updates, and stakeholder communications.
- Monitor project scope, timelines, deliverables, budgets, and overall project health using established PMO methodologies and best practices.
- Manage third-party vendors and coordinate external security solution implementations when applicable.
- Ensure projects align with organizational security standards, governance frameworks, and compliance requirements.
- Drive issue resolution and remove project roadblocks to maintain delivery timelines.
- Produce executive-level reporting, including dashboards, status reports, RAID logs, project documentation, and key performance metrics.
- Support organizational change management activities to promote successful adoption of new security technologies and processes.
- Foster collaboration between technical teams and business stakeholders to ensure successful project execution and business alignment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- 5+ years of experience managing enterprise technology projects as a Technical Project Manager.
- 2+ years of experience leading Information Security or Cybersecurity projects.
- Experience managing security initiatives across multiple domains, including:
- Identity and Access Management (IAM)
- Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)
- Privileged Access Management (PAM)
- Vulnerability Management
- Security Operations (SOC)
- Endpoint Security
- Cloud Security (Azure and/or AWS)
- Network Security
- Data Protection and Data Loss Prevention (DLP)
- Strong understanding of Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, and hybrid project delivery methodologies.
- Experience managing multiple concurrent technical projects within large, complex enterprise environments.
- Strong knowledge of project planning, budgeting, forecasting, risk management, resource management, and executive reporting.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional technical teams, including infrastructure, networking, cloud, and application development.
- Proficiency with project management tools such as Azure Dev Ops, Jira, Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, or similar platforms.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, stakeholder management, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Demonstrated ability to influence without direct authority, prioritize competing initiatives, and drive successful project outcomes in fast-paced environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting regulatory and compliance initiatives such as HIPAA, NIST, ISO 27001, PCI DSS, or SOC 2.
- PMP, PMI-ACP, Certified Scrum Master (CSM), SAFe, or similar project management certification.
- Experience working within healthcare or other highly regulated industries.
- Familiarity with enterprise security governance, risk management, and compliance frameworks.
