We are seeking a Junior Systems Administrator located in our Irving, TX location.
About the RoleWe're looking for a motivated Junior Systems Administrator to join our IT team. You'll help maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot our server infrastructure, networks, and end-user systems while learning from senior engineers and growing into more advanced administrative responsibilities.
Responsibilities- Monitor system performance, availability, and security across servers and workstations
- Perform routine maintenance: patching, backups, updates, and user account management
- Provide first- and second-tier technical support for hardware, software, and network issues
- Assist in configuring and maintaining Windows servers, Active Directory, firewalls, and network devices
- Document processes, configurations, and troubleshooting steps
- Support onboarding/offboarding of employee accounts and equipment
- Escalate complex issues to senior sysadmins and collaborate on resolution
- Assist with system upgrades, migrations, and infrastructure projects
- Participate in on-call rotation and provide after-hours support as needed
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 0–2 years of experience in IT support or systems administration
- Basic knowledge of Windows Server administration
- Familiarity with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and networking fundamentals
- Basic understanding of firewall configuration and network security principles
- Understanding of or work with an IDP (Identity Provider) like Okta preferred
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Good communication and willingness to learn
- Relevant certifications (CompTIA A+, Network+, or similar) preferred but not required
- Ability to travel up to 10%
- Willingness to work occasional after-hours and participate in on-call rotation
- Scripting experience (Power Shell)
- Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure, AWS)
- Experience with ticketing systems (e.g., Jira, Service Now)
