WAGE/HOUR STATUS:

FUNDING SOURCE:

REPORTS TO:

Director of Information Systems

DEPARTMENT:
Information Systems and Servers

DATE REVISED: 7/22/2026

PRIMARY

PURPOSE:

The Business Systems Analyst
- Process Automation makes the District's applications work for the people who depend on them: learning how a department operates, asking the right questions, and turning the answer into a configured, tested, well-documented workflow, form, or integration. The deep specialty is the District's Laserfiche electronic content management (ECM) platform and the business-process automation that runs on it: the forms, approvals, records, and workflows that move work between systems.

This is also a generalist analyst who can step into any District system (student, HR, or finance), learn it quickly, and give users and owners a clear answer.

Qualifications Minimum

Education/Certification:
  • A bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience and a track record of delivering student or business solutions.
  • Laserfiche Certified Professional credentials preferred, particularly the Process Automation path (Forms and Workflow) and/or Certified Administrator, or the ability to obtain within twelve months of hire.
Special Knowledge/Skills
  • Proficiency administering the Laserfiche application platform (repository, security, templates, and user/role provisioning).
  • Demonstrated skill building Laserfiche Forms and Workflows, both automated and human-task.
  • Strong SQL and relational database design, with hands-on integration and ETL between Laserfiche and SIS/ERP systems (e.g., Tyler Munis, Power School eSchoolPlus) and report/query development.
  • Command of the software development lifecycle and business-analysis methodology: requirements elicitation, current-state/future-state process mapping, SDLC, QA/UAT, and change-and-release management.
  • Adaptability: ramps on unfamiliar systems fast and translates fluently between business needs and technical solutions.
  • Strong project-management, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with clear written and verbal communication and the persistence to deliver under deadline and pressure.
  • Working knowledge of student/staff data privacy and security.
  • Effective and responsible use of AI:
Uses District-approved AI tools to raise the quality and speed of work, keeps protected data out of non-approved tools, verifies output before relying on it, and retains personal accountability for results.
  • Preferred:
Experience in a K-12 district or other public-sector organization, and with the business processes that ride on ECM (HR onboarding, student records, purchasing, Finance/AP, Special Education).
  • Preferred:
Light front-end scripting for advanced form behavior (JavaScript/CSS) and C#/.NET for custom Laserfiche workflow activities or SDK work.
  • Preferred:
Familiarity with the District's application stack (e.g., eSchoolPlus, Tyler Munis/TCM, Cognos, Power BI, TSDS/PEIMS, UKG Ready) and reporting/analytics tooling (SSRS, APIs, SSIS, Python, DAX).
Minimum Experience
  • 3-5 years analyzing, configuring, supporting, and testing software backed by a relational database, ideally on a team in an Information Systems department.
  • A minimum of two (2) years administering or implementing Laserfiche, or a comparable ECM platform, including building Laserfiche Workflows and Forms.
Major Responsibilities And Duties

Essential Functions, organized by key accountability. The employee must be able to perform each of the following, with or without reasonable accommodation. Works independently under the general direction of the Director of Information Systems, exercising discretion and independent judgment on matters of significance without day-to-day technical oversight.

Laserfiche Application Administration

Outcome: the Laserfiche application stays healthy, secure, properly licensed, and reliable for every department that depends on it.

  • Serve as the primary administrator of the Laserfiche application: repository configuration, security management, themes and templates, and in-application user, group, and role provisioning, including named-user/seat license assignment.
  • Monitor Laserfiche license and seat utilization and capacity, and provide usage and capacity input to support license procurement and renewals.
  • Coordinate and test Laserfiche version upgrades, patches, and releases with affected departments, documenting issues and validating application function afterward.
Business Process Automation & Solution Delivery

Outcome: manual, paper-bound processes become automated, tested, well-documented Laserfiche solutions.

  • Lead the district wide development and implementation of automated business processes, workflows, and forms via the Laserfiche application: designing and deploying Forms (field design, validation, conditional and dynamic logic, layout, and…
