Ansible Platform Engineer

Lead Infrastructure Engineer – Ansible

Lead Infrastructure Engineer to support the engineering, operations, and modernization of the Ansible Automation Platform. This role provides hands-on technical leadership to improve platform reliability, scalability, and delivery while collaborating with engineering, operations, security, and customer teams. The engineer will help drive enterprise-scale automation and support 24x7 platform ownership for critical infrastructure services. In this role, you will:

• Provide technical guidance for Ansible platform engineering, operations, and automation solutions that address business and technical needs
• Lead the delivery of reliable, scalable, and maintainable solutions for complex infrastructure automation challenges that align with platform standards and business priorities
• Translate technical requirements, platform architecture, operational needs, and customer feedback into practical engineering solutions and implementation plans
• Partner with senior engineers and leadership to implement technical direction, improve platform capabilities, and deliver high-quality business solutions
• Apply industry best practices and emerging technologies to strengthen platform stability, automation effectiveness, and operational efficiency
• Collaborate with engineers, managers, product owners, vendors, and customer teams to resolve issues, support platform adoption, and promote sound engineering practices

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering or infrastructure automation, or equivalent background through work, training, military service, or education
• 3+ years of experience designing, operating, and optimizing large-scale distributed production systems for high availability, scalability, and fault tolerance

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience leading technology or infrastructure automation initiatives
• 5+ years of experience in fast-paced Agile environments
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to build cross-functional business partnerships
• Proven ability to contribute to technical strategy, mentor engineers, and improve automation practices
• Expert Ansible Automation Platform and Ansible development experience, including reusable playbooks, roles, collections, workflows, execution environments, and governance
• Strong knowledge of containerization and orchestration (Open Shift, Kubernetes)
• Proficiency in Linux administration and scripting (Shell, YAML, Python)
• Strong experience with system performance, tuning, and automation troubleshooting
• Ability to support production incidents, root cause analysis, risk identification, and timely escalation in a 24x7 platform environment
• Knowledge of enterprise security, compliance, and vault platforms (Hashi Corp Vault, Cyber Ark)
• Working knowledge of CI/CD and Dev Ops practices for Infrastructure as Code, security, and compliance scanning (Git Hub Actions, Argo CD)
• Working knowledge of major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)

NTT DATA provides a reasonable range of compensation for U.S.

-based positions. The starting pay range for this role is $60-$66.50/hour. Actual compensation will depend on a number of factors, including the candidate's relevant experience, technical skills, and other qualifications.
