Director, Data Platform & Analytics

Responsibilities

As a Director, Data Platform & Analytics on the Data & Strategy Ops team, a typical day for you will include:

  • Own the strategy, architecture, development, and optimization of Neighborly's AWS-based data platform and data lake, ensuring scalable, secure, reliable, and cost-effective data infrastructure aligned with business and technology objectives .
  • Lead the design, development, and operationalization of enterprise data ingestion, transformation, orchestration, and integration frameworks, enabling trusted data from internal, external, SaaS, API, database, and third-party sources.
  • Partner with Marketing, Analytics, Data Science, and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality data solutions that support customer engagement, segmentation, campaign activation, attribution, enterprise reporting, self-service analytics, and business decision-making.
  • Build and enable the data foundations required for AI, Machine Learning, and GenAI initiatives, including data preparation, metadata management, retrieval processes, orchestration, continuous refresh, and secure integration with AI applications, agents, and analytics platforms.
  • Establish and enforce data engineering standards, best practices, governance, monitoring, quality, performance, documentation, and operational processes while driving modernization and adoption of AWS-native capabilities.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing Data & Analytics Engineering team, providing technical leadership and cross-functional collaboration to translate business requirements into scalable data solutions while balancing strategic platform evolution with operational excellence.

Experience
  • 5+ years of related experience in data engineering, data platforms, analytics engineering, or a related technical data role, including experience leading data platform development and/or technical teams.
  • Experience with Marketing Automation and customer engagement platforms such as Braze, Broadly, or similar
  • Experience building customer data platforms, marketing data ecosystems, and analytics architectures, with expertise in Amazon Quick Sight , AI/ML and GenAI solutions, including LLM applications, AI agents, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and AI-driven data pipelines.
Skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed business recommendations.
  • Ability to evaluate technology solutions, vendor proposals, and business requirements using sound judgment.
  • Ability to manage ambiguity, prioritize competing initiatives, and develop structured solutions to complex business problems
Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Engineering, Data Science, Engineering, Business Analytics, or a related field.

Schedule / in-office requirements

Hybrid working model;
Monday-Wednesday in office, Thursday/Friday from home.
