WhatYou’ll Achieve
- Administer, monitor, and maintain large‑scale Oracle databases across production, development, test, and disaster recovery environments.
- Manage and support Oracle RAC, ASM, Active Data Guard, and high‑availability database architectures.
- Perform Data Guard switchover, failover, and disaster recovery testing activities.
- Execute Oracle database patching, upgrades, migrations, and lifecycle management with minimal business disruption.
- Design, implement, and support enterprise backup and recovery strategies using RMAN and Oracle recovery technologies.
- Diagnose and resolve complex database performance issues involving SQL tuning, execution plans, wait events, AWR, ASH, and Oracle internals.
- Troubleshoot critical production incidents and perform root cause analysis to prevent recurrence.
- Support Oracle databases hosted on‑premises and in cloud platforms, including Oracle Cloud, AWS RDS, and Azure environments.
- Automate routine DBA tasks using Shell, Python, Ansible, or related scripting and automation tools.
- Collaborate closely with application, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and Dev Ops teams to deliver scalable and resilient database solutions.
- Participate in on‑call support rotations and provide escalation support for critical database incidents.
- Provide guidance and mentoring to junior database administrators and technical teams.
What You’ll Bring with You
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 8+ years of hands‑on Oracle Database Administration experience supporting mission‑critical production environments.
- Deep expertise in Oracle Database technologies, including:
- Oracle RAC
- Active Data Guard
- ASM
- RMAN
- Oracle Enterprise Manager
- Performance Tuning and Diagnostics
- Strong experience with Oracle backup, recovery, high availability, and disaster recovery architectures.
- Extensive experience performing Oracle database upgrades, patching, migrations, and capacity planning.
- Experience supporting Oracle databases across AWS, Azure, GCP, or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
- Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix administration and troubleshooting.
- Proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, Shell scripting, Python, or similar automation tools.
- Experience supporting large‑scale OLTP and data warehouse environments.
