About

The Role Duties & responsibilities
  • Address unrepresented and represented bodily injury claims.
  • Obtain recorded statements of policyholders and other involved parties to the degree necessary to establish a liability determination and verify coverage.
  • Determine most appropriate course for establishing extent of damages.
  • Communicate claims procedures and process to involved parties verbally and in writing.
  • Review all submitted injury related documentation for accuracy, appropriateness and establish realistic injury settlement ranges.
  • Engage attorneys as well as injured unrepresented parties in discussions regarding injuries, treatment, expenses, disability, etc. in order to resolve the pending injury claims for realistic amounts based on information obtained or provided.
  • Comply with all required reporting requirements, such as ISO, CMS, etc.
  • Apply comparative negligence, as appropriate, to the resolution of third-party bodily injury claims in the interest of minimizing overall paid severity.
  • Document activities in claim file notes in clear, complete & concise manner.
  • Issue claim payments in appropriate amounts to appropriate payees. Identify recovery potential and take appropriate steps to pursue same. Must be able to efficiently and accurately handle a high volume of claims. Assist Team members as necessary to achieve performance objectives of the Team and the Company.

This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule after successful completion of training/probationary period.

Qualifications
  • Three or more years of experience in an insurance claim environment, preferably personal lines automobile.
  • Successful experience as a Casualty Claim Adjuster or similar position.
  • License/Certification:
    Auto Adjuster License/Property and Casualty License (Required)
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
Required Skills
  • Strong working knowledge of medical terminology, injury mechanics and appropriate injury treatment practices.
  • Strong coverage and liability investigation skills.
  • Customer service.
  • Ability to multitask and adhere to direction.
  • Time management and prioritization skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
