Supply Chain Manager Industry: Manufacturing The Supply Chain Manager plays a pivotal role in driving operational excellence within the manufacturing sector by overseeing the end-to-end flow of goods, services, and information from raw material sourcing to final product delivery. This strategic position is responsible for optimizing supply chain processes to ensure timely production, cost efficiency, inventory accuracy, and seamless coordination across procurement, logistics, warehousing, and distribution functions.

As a key leader in the organization, the Supply Chain Manager ensures supply chain resilience, mitigates risks, and supports business growth through data‑driven decision‑making, continuous improvement initiatives, and strong cross‑functional collaboration. With a focus on sustainability, innovation, and scalability, this role is essential to maintaining competitive advantage in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage all aspects of the supply chain lifecycle, including procurement, production planning, inventory management, warehousing, and distribution.
  • Develop and implement supply chain strategies aligned with corporate goals, emphasizing cost reduction, service level improvement, and supply chain agility.
  • Collaborate with procurement teams to negotiate contracts, manage supplier performance, and ensure reliable sourcing of raw materials and components.
  • Optimize inventory levels through demand forecasting, safety stock analysis, and implementation of advanced inventory control systems.
  • Oversee logistics operations, including freight management, carrier selection, transportation planning, and delivery performance tracking.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, or other operational excellence methodologies to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Monitor supply chain KPIs and generate regular performance reports for senior leadership, including on‑time delivery rates, inventory turnover, and supply chain cost metrics.
  • Lead crisis management and risk mitigation efforts by identifying potential disruptions and developing contingency plans.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations, quality standards (e.g., ISO 9001), and environmental sustainability practices.
  • Partner with cross‑functional teams such as production, sales, finance, and R&D to align supply chain activities with business demands and market trends.
Requirements
  • The ideal candidate must be legally authorized to work in the United States and physically present within the U.S.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field;
    Master’s degree preferred.
  • 1 year of progressive experience in supply chain management within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven track record of managing large‑scale supply chains, including procurement, logistics, and inventory control.
  • Expertise in supply chain planning tools (e.g., SAP, Oracle, JDA) and ERP systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with proficiency in data analysis and reporting (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Tableau).
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities with experience managing cross‑functional teams and vendors.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, demand planning, and inventory optimization techniques.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Familiarity with international trade regulations, customs compliance, and global supply chain dynamics.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced, results‑driven environment with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation.
