Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems Global Supply Chain (GSC), Goods Movement & Logistics (GM&L) has an opening for a Traffic Administrator to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located onsite in Irving, TX
. Plans, schedules, and routes inbound and outbound domestic and international shipments of freight, using knowledge of postal regulations, tariffs, and company policy. Schedules with carriers, reconciles freight bills, prepares and negotiates claims, and selects or recommends carriers to ensure efficient, timely, and least expensive movement of goods and material. Conducts research on transportation methods, rates, and routes. Develops programs to audit and monitor carrier rates and charges and evaluates past performance and cost of transportation.

Roles And Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for domestic and international traffic operations on site, acting as the escalation path to address issues in program execution related to the GM&L Traffic operations on site, ensuring mitigation plans are developed and executed to address any risks related to GM&L’s execution
  • Prepare and tender SOFO-10 for multiple programs and classified programs or other government forms
  • Submit DD250’S to WAWF, and tender shipment utilizing DTMS, ITMS, and Fed Ex online application. Print approved DD250 and pair with original to be shipped after they are signed off by DCMA.
  • Coordinate dedicated truck shipments as requested by various programs in addition to classified shipments
  • Responds to client needs by answering e-mails, calls, tracking and moving shipments
  • Monitors and ensure on-time pick-up and delivery
  • Support Shipping/Receiving with unloading/loading of small packages when needed
  • Provide support to import on uploading documents to the file repository
  • Research and Resolving customer or supplier issues
  • The ideal candidate will have strong customer service & problem-solving skills
  • Other duties as required and assigned by manager
  • Update training documents
  • Scan work to remote teammates
  • Print / match up documents for outbound shipments from remote employees
  • Obtain required system access for SOW
  • Staging and labeling small packages under 50lbs. on the shipping floor

This position may be filled as a Level 1 or Level 2 based on the qualifications outlined below.

Basic Qualifications:

Associate Traffic administrator Level 1
  • Bachelor’s Degree with experience in Supply Chain Management, Logistics Management, Project Management, Business Management, operations OR High School Diploma/Equivalent with at least 4 years of experience
  • Must have Supply Chain or Traffic or Shipping or Warehousing experience
  • Ability to obtain and maintain U.S Government Secret Clearance and Special Program Access within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the Company to meet its business needs
  • Experience with the use of Transportation Management Systems (TMS) applications
Associate Traffic administrator Level 2
  • Bachelor’s Degree with 2 years of experience in Supply Chain Management, Logistics Management, Project Management, Business Management, operations OR a Master’s Degree with at least 1 years of experience OR High School Diploma/Equivalent with at least 6 years of experience
