Tactical Buyer
The Tactical Buyer at One Main will play a critical role in the Procurement process by efficiently managing and executing purchasing activities that align with the company's operational needs. The successful candidate will work closely with internal stakeholders and suppliers to ensure timely Procurement of goods and services at competitive prices. The Tactical Buyer will focus on executing day-to-day Procurement tasks, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring compliance with the company's Procurement policies.
This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to manage multiple Procurement activities in a fast-paced environment.
In the Role:
- Execute day-to-day purchasing activities, including the creation and management of purchase orders, ensuring timely delivery of goods and services.
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure consistent quality, reliability, and competitiveness in pricing.
- Collaborate with internal departments to understand purchasing needs and forecast demand for goods and services.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions with suppliers to achieve the best possible cost savings and value for the company.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all purchasing transactions, contracts, and supplier communications.
- Support the implementation of Procurement strategies developed by the Strategic Sourcing team.
- Resolve any issues or discrepancies related to orders, deliveries, or supplier performance in a timely manner.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 2-4 years of experience in a purchasing or buyer role, preferably within the financial services or related industry.
- Strong understanding of the procurement process, supplier management, and best practices in purchasing.
- Proven negotiation skills with a track record of securing favorable terms and pricing from suppliers.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Analytical skills with the ability to evaluate supplier performance, market trends, and Procurement opportunities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external suppliers.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in managing Procurement documentation and records.
- Proficiency in Procurement software and tools; experience with platforms like Coupa is preferred.
- High level of integrity and professionalism, with a commitment to ethical Procurement practices.
