Biomedical Equipment Technician I – Quest Diagnostics – Irving, TX
Wednesday to Sunday, 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM (second shift)
Pay range: $20.90+ per hour. Shift differential: 10% on second shift, 15% on third shift. Bonus: eligible for annual performance bonus compensation.

Responsible for the repair and maintenance of laboratory equipment and documentation of equipment service activities. Also responsible for the installation and testing of new equipment. Trains lab personnel on the proper use of instruments.
Responsibilities- Performs preventative maintenance, repairs and calibrations of laboratory equipment.
- Maintains documentation of service performed in accordance with requirements outlined by licensing and accreditation agencies.
- Maintains a physical inventory of key equipment repair parts.
- Assists in preparing the location for new equipment, ensuring all necessary requirements for proper operation have been met (e.g. water, cooling, electrical needs).
- Installs and tests new equipment to ensure proper working condition.
- Assists in instructing laboratory personnel on the proper use of instruments.
- Assists in maintaining calibration equipment used on laboratory equipment.
- Assists in coordinating outside service requirements to ensure timely repairs.
- Assists in monitoring work performed by outside service organizations.

- Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs and at times assist the Biomedical Engineers in moving equipment.

Skills- Excellent oral communication skills.
- Requires a logical thought process, accountability, physical dexterity, and the ability to clearly/effectively communicate with team members and lab personnel outside the department.
High school Diploma Required.
Associate degree preferred.
